Jaguar Land Rover Shuts Down Systems After Cyberattack

Automaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has confirmed it was forced to shut down several systems following a cyberattack that disrupted both production and retail operations.
Company Response
“JLR has experienced a cyber incident. We took immediate steps to mitigate its impact by proactively taking our systems offline,” the company said in an official statement. “There is currently no evidence of any customer data being stolen; however, our retail and production operations have been significantly disrupted.”
The automaker added that work is underway to perform a controlled restart of its global applications, but it has not provided a timeline for full recovery. No technical details about the nature of the attack have been released.
Operational Disruptions
Initial reports of disruption came from UK dealers, who said they were unable to register new vehicles or supply parts to service centers.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the attack occurred over the weekend, forcing JLR to shut down multiple systems, including those at the Solihull production plant, where the Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover, and Range Rover Sport models are built.
Media outlets also reported that employees at the Halewood plant received an email instructing them not to come to work on Monday, while other staff were sent home as operations halted.
